When I was installing vmserver, i ran into some problems with downloading it from VMwares site. I've tried removing the HD and no cd/dvd in the drive, and it just errors out saying disk not present. I have tried unplugging the hard drive and booting to the disk but the same thing happens. I have burned the ISO to several different disk types including CD and DVD from three different companies.Įach time I tell the system to boot from the cd or dvd drive, it starts Dr-Dos, spits out a ton of information so fast on the screen I cant copy it all, disables the USB Keyboard, and stalls at A:\ I have to pull the power plug or press and hold the power button in order to get the machine to respond. I am attempting to install the VMware-VMvisor-Installer-4.1.0-260247.x86_64.iso onto a Precision workstation 490 with dual intel xeon woodcrest 5110 processorsand 4gb ECC Buffered memory and a 74gb Serial AttachedSCSI drive. I have pulled my hair out googling for an answer, yet one seems to elude me. I have formatted the 490 three times now with a Department of Defense approved method via killdisk. I have burned the ISO several times to several different disks. I am having a problem with installing ESXi onto a precision. First let me say that if this is not the correct area, i am very sorry.
